I think Alannis is the better spelling. I like it, makes me think of Atlantis and mermaids.

I never liked the -is ending on this one. Not all -is names - but Alannis reminds me of an anatomical term. Very likely because of the existence of the word "allantois."
It *should* seem more namey than it does. Alana + Alice? It's alright. Namey enough. Doesn't really attract me, though.
Alannice? Alanys? I think Alanys would be my preferred spelling. I think the name is obviously-invented enough, that one could spell it any way they liked.
