We're just going through Full House character names, I take it?Nothing inherently wrong with either name, but they fit firmly within the timeframe of Full House and, to me, read as dated or out-of-place for regular use in 2023. They were both so common for women of a certain age group that it's almost hard for me to evaluate them as a name, versus as a constant of life. I definitely have encountered more Stephanies, in my age group particularly, and that has made it hard to determine if the name is even particularly pretty.

Stephanie isn't bad at all; I have a cousin named Stephanie, so I get the image of a warm, family-oriented person who loves art, history, and good food. I love the name Kimberly, and it has always been a favorite of mine. I'm surprised that I don't know of many people called Kimberly, except for Kim Kardashian (a negative associate, since I wouldn't want people thinking I called my daughter after her). I prefer Kimberly used in its full form or with the nickname Kimmy; I don't care for the name Kim.

Stephanie is quite nice. Not a favourite, but certainly OK; I also like Stephen for a boy and would be more likely to consider using it IRL.Kimberly looks like a spelling error. In South Africa, diamonds were discovered and mined in the mid-19th century and the town that grew up around the diggings was named Kimberley after a British Cabinet minister who took his title from a town in the UK which also has the -ey spelling. Diamonds sound quite all right, but present-day Kimberley has run out of them and although it is still the provincial Capital, it is a run-down, dusty, hot little town with minimal job opportunities and an incompetent government. There are plenty of South Africans named Kim, but I've never met a local Kimberley or Kimberly, and I hope my luck holds.

I like them both a lot. I wouldn't have minded being named either one, especially Stephanie, which at one point I might have wanted to use for a daughter. They're not as super-popular as they once were, but they don't feel dated like Lindsey and Heather do.

They should both be retired, I'm tired of seeing them. Stephanie especially was popular with my generation.

They are both ok, prefer Kimberly.
