My daughter used to have a classmate named Tulipa, a little Mexican girl with a twin named, I think, Carolina or Catalina.
I don't really think Tulip works very well as a name. It has the air of a rather gooey term of endearment in a British children's book, like Poppet or Petal or Button.
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you criticize him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes!
