[Opinions] Ryatt, Dutton, and Misael
These are masculine names on the US top 1000 list that I've never noticed seeing before.Wdyt of Ryatt, and how do you think it compares to Ryan, Wyatt, Rhett, and Riot (do you like any of those)?Wdyt of Misael, and how would you intuitively pronounce it? Have you met anyone named it? Would you prefer Ismael, Miguel, or Mishael?Wdyt of Dutton, and how do you think it compares to Sutton, Dalton, Daxton, Dayton, Duncan, and Dawson (do you like any of those)?

Ryatt and Dutton are both unappealing. Ryan and Rhett are far better than Ryatt, and I don't personally like any of those alternative options for Dutton lol.
I like Misael. I would pronounce it MISS-eye-el, or MEES-ee-el. Maybe MEESH-ee-el, which I think is the best of the three.

Misael is handsome in a very wispy way. The others are ugly.

Ryatt just makes me think 'rat' lol, it's not even that bad as far as modern names go but I just picture a giant rat 😅Misael I either pronounce the Spanish way or like 'missile', not my favorite -el nameDutton sounds aggressively Southern and manly, but so do pretty much all of those names you mentioned

Misael is the Spanish form of Mishael, which isn't rare in the Spanish-speaking world. It's pronounced mee-sa-EL. I like it more than Ismael and Miguel.Ryatt is strange. I don't like Rhett and Ryan seems too boring for me. Riot is really bad as a name. The only I like is Wyatt.Dutton doesn't appeal to me, it's just another surname-turned-name, albeit I like Sutton, Dalton (underrated name), Duncan and Dawson.

What makes Dalton seem like a good/underrated name to you?

It has lots of positive qualities, yet it was somewhat popular for a decade until its big decline in the mid 2000s. I feel it could blend in nowadays with Easton, Grayson, Landon or even Jaxon.

...yeah, but what would you say are its positive qualities? Is it the science connection or some connection with a famous person? To me (beyond being a random surname) the 1st syllable sounds just like Dolt, so I never really understood why it caught on at all.

Sorry for not clarifying.Dalton is a handsome name to me. It's also common-sounding without being trendy, as well as it is established and doesn't look artificial. In addition, I think it fits any age.

Riatt isn't a name to me, no more than Riot, except that it's just possible Riatt is an occasional surname like Hiatt or Piatt.
I don't see any reason to name a kid Riot. A riot isn't a positive thing. It's like naming him Brawl or Melee.Dutton just sounds funny, even though of course it's a well-known surname. It sounds like baby talk for button or nothing or dusting. No idea how to pronounce Misael.

I'm pretty sure I've never even seen Dutton as a surname. I would've guessed it was made up like Daxton at 1st glance.

Dutton is a real surname. I’ve known a guy with it.

Right. I wasn't calling it fake, just doubting how common and well-known it is, relatively. I've never heard of the publisher either. It seems like it might have been popularized here by the TV show Yellowstone, which began in 2018...it's the fastest rising baby name in the country currently, which makes it seem like it came from nowhere (apart from, imv, how it sounds similar to other more common trendy surnames) because I haven't seen the show.

Ryatt - I think that sounds "riot" for me.Misael - I think looks like "miserable" in my opinion. I prefer Michael. Dutton - I dislike it that sounds unattractive.
