Ida was never one to don the blue collar. at age 21, with support from her parents, she went to Syracuse University in the Upstate New York area to study Accounting, hopefully starting her own firm. There she met her own DH, a Chinese exchange student. A atereotypical FOB (Fresh-off-boat), DH stepped off the airplane with his pockets stuffed by his parents' hard-earned money, and his determination to become a dentist, as his parents have set out for him. Studying at Syracuse University, he met Ida on the stands of a university football match, as he absorbed the newfound American culture. Ida approached him first, asking for his number. They dated for around 7 years before getting married, after DH became a naturalised American citizen. Due to their high-paying jobs, they afforded to have more children than the rest of the extended family.
