[Opinions] Glencora
I was browsing the fiction section of a used bookstore yesterday and came upon Anthony Trollope's Can You Forgive Her?, which features a character named Glencora. I didn't buy the book, but I plan to read it soon, and I've gleaned that this character is beloved by readers. So, what do you think of Glencora? It would suit a cat splendidly...Some combos:Glencora Edith
Glencora Enid
Glencora Phoebe
Glencora Sylvia / Sylvie
Glencora Patience
Glencora Phyllis
Glencora Muriel
Glencora Sibyl
Glencora Lillian
Glencora Lilias
Glencora Wallis
Glencora Betony
Glencora Tansy
Glencora Maude
Glencora Daisy
Glencora Violet

I'm sure this comes as no surprise, but I like it. It's got that clunky elegance I enjoy (I think a lot of names that evoke Highland romance have that sort of rough beauty). There are actually three real people named Glencora, at least! They came up when I googled the name. Amazing.I lived on a street called "Glencoe" after somewhere in Scotland, so the name is familiar and homey to me. One question though - is it said Glen-KO-ra, or GLEN-kur-a? I like the first version a lot.Glencora Lilias is great, it's got that Scottish beauty in spades.
Glencora Maude is so windswept and haunted, I love that one.

Don't, like it as a name

A cat? Maybe, though I think it sounds more like a suburb, or a rather expensive country village that attracts prosperous visitors. As such, Glencora Wallis is perfect.
