[Opinions] Wren
What do you think of Wren?Would you use it for a boy or a girl? Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me, and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

I think it could be androgynous, but my first thought is girl; my first ever friend was a girl named Wren (we went to preschool together). I think that it’s a very nice name, though I prefer it in the middle name slot.

I like seeing this name on paper. I like it in theory a lot, it's sweet and gentle and poetic and whimsical but not overtly ridiculous. But in real life there is something so unremarkable about it, it becomes invisible. I met someone named Wren at an event once, and spent several hours in her company. Even though I heard the name "Wren" being used many times, it never registered as her name, the entire time. It was an odd feeling. Like if you met someone whose name was "Then". My brain couldn't grab onto it. For that reason I like it best as a middle name. I like it for any gender.

I prefer Ren and would use it for a girl

It doesn't feel like a real person's name to me. It's more like the kind of Mary-Sue-ish, fan-fictiony YA character who is a weird mashup of Bella Swan, Harry Potter, Katniss Everdine and whatever other current YA characters are hot.

I don't like Wren as a human name at all. But I do know a Rentia: her name is usually short for Emmarentia or Emerentia, but in her case it's a stand-alone and I really like it. That's as close to Wren as I'd willingly go.

Don't like it for either

I think it’s one of those truly unisex names. I like it.

I love it. I think of it more on a girl but it could be a boy. I'm more likely to assume Wren is a girl and Ren is a boy.

I didn't hear this name so much but it's strange for me. I would used for girl.
