[Opinions] Ursula
WDYT about Ursula? What names would you pair it with for a hypothetical sister?
"Has the planet gone mad? My brother... passion's hostage. I seek justice! Denied. I shall not submit! I shall conquer! I shall rise! My name is Gomez Addams, and I have seen evil! I have seen horror!"

The first syllable is not mellifluous, not that "sula" is much better.
Ursula and Ermentrude sound related. They are both very vintage and not my usual style at all.

Personally, for me in real life it's too out there (one of my favorite go to movies is George of the Jungle and the main female lead is named Ursula because she comes from a over the top wealthy background so it's got that connection plus The Little Mermaid villianess) so I don't see me using it ever. Even for an animal.
However, that being said, I do love it using it in literature. I would pair it with more dramatic style names as it's got that certain theatre or artsy vibe or Victorian gothic type names.
Ursula & Amaranthe was the first combo in my mind.

Ooh nice one, Ursula and Amaranthe are great
I love Ursula. I'd use it for a real kid and everything. But any kid of mine would for sure be chubby, because of epigenetics. Would that be cruel??
I agree that a sister would need something with as much power.

Ursula is a name I thought was ugly a few months ago and after reading all the positive comments of it on here one day I fell in love! The meaning is precious, it’s uncommon but familiar, it’s fantastic. However, I don’t think I would ever consider it for a child, but I did add it to my ‘future cats’ list. I had the idea of cat sisters called Ursula Tamsin, Muriel Elspeth & Eulalie Bronwen :)
It's beautiful, elegant, and very lovely.
Ursula and Morrigan is amazing. And Ursula and Sibyl!
Don't like it at all
I like it better witht he German pronunciation, but not well enough to every consider using it.
I knew a Deirdre whose real-life sister Ursula was called Ursh by her family. Enough to put any thinking person off it for life.

I think it's alright...though I would not name a child this as they would definitely be teased.
I love Ursula. I have always loved Ursula. I will always love Ursula.
No references to "sea witches" will stop me!
That said, Ursula's siblings need to have equally unconventional, or even whimsical, names. No Marys, Catherines, Johns, or Michaels here - bring on the Potterverse!
Elektra, Percival, Roland, Morgana... the more magical (not so much "hippie"), the better!

I love your take on the matching vibe with Ursula. It feels really out of place next to more "traditional" names. The more dramatic and over the top the better.
Ursula and Elektra, wow!
