[Opinions] Gilda
Hilda is one of my favorite names, so naturally I'm drawn to Gilda, though I find it jazzier and more effervescent than Hilda. What do you think of it? I don't pronounce it the Italian way, for the record; I pronounce it like the word "gild" or "guild."
Some combos:Gilda Ruby
Gilda Florence
Gilda Marguerite
Gilda Leonora
Gilda Zoë
Gilda Genevieve
Gilda Bryony
Gilda Blanche
Gilda Violet
Gilda Irene
Gilda Iris
Gilda Xanthe
Gilda Harriet
Gilda Miriam
Gilda Celeste
Gilda Rosemary
Gilda Juliet
Gilda Josephine
Gilda Roxanne
Gilda Francine

I absolutely love both Hilda and Gilda; I don’t understand why Gilda never gained much traction. Your combinations are also to die for, as I love Gilda Roxanne, Gilda Miriam, Gilda Rosemary, Gilda Juliet, Gilda Francine, Gilda Harriet, Gilda Irene, Gilda Josephine, and Gilda Ruby.
I think it's beautiful. Gilda Leonora is gorgeous.
Don't really like it at all
It's pretty. Spunky. Charming. Streaked with all shades of yellow. I pronounce it the Italian way, though.
My immediate thought is Gilda Radner:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilda_RadnerI realize she died about 30+ ago, but I can't separate the name from her.She was Gilda Susan, which I like.
A wonderful namesake!
Oh I love Gilda Radner!
My husband was telling me how much he likes the name Hilda, which would be spelled "Gilda" in Spain to get the Hilda pronunciation! I love both the names, but especially Gilda (with the hard G). It's so brightly eccentric and warm. It has so much personality. It's a very "me" sort of name and I'd use it in a red hot minute!I like the energy of Gilda Zoë a lot. Gilda is very jazzy indeed, and the extra flair looks great next to her!I love all the ideas you have here. Gilda Ruby was made for me. I also thought of...Gilda Phoebe
Gilda June
Gilda Jeannine or Gilda Janine
Gilda is edgy, and yes jazzier than Hilda. I pronounce it the way you do, and was surprised by the origin and meaning - I thought it was related to gold (which I suppose it is in a roundabout way…). I still wouldn’t pair it with any colour names in the middle. From your list I like (it needs an off-beat spunky name):
Gilda Marguerite
Gilda Leonora
Gilda Bryony
Gilda Iris (colour name but I always think more of eyes)
Gilda Harriet
Gilda Roxanne
Gilda Francine
