Onyx had to laugh, seeing as how they had gone through a very similar phase at his age. They even brought out the few old photos they had from when they were fourteen to show Waldo that he looked exactly like his parent. Everyone laughed the phase off... until over the summer Waldo started acting strange, even stranger than a normal vampire obsessed teenager. He refused to leave the house when the sun was up. He became even more antisocial than your average teen boy, saying that he felt like he wasn't welcome anywhere. He suddenly had a lot of stomach problems that didn't exist before and when his mom tried to get him into the doctor, the sun gave him burns the instant its rays touched his skin. Even staying in certain parts of the house seemed to make him uncomfortable. It was only after Rosy did manage to get him in to see a doctor that two and two was put together. In her examination of the teen, the doctor found two bite marks on his neck that were beginning to fester, marks that Waldo had hidden under turtle necks and tall collars. The doctor referred them to a night clinic that specialized in these kinds of supernatural circumstances. Sure enough, the specialist took one look at the list of Waldo's symptoms and the imaging of the bite marks and immediately declared, "Your son, Mrs. Willoughwood, appears to be a vampire. I'll refer him to some other specialists to help you figure out how to care for him in this period of transition, starting with a therapist who can see him on an urgent basis tonight." And suddenly, vampire-obsessed Grimwald "Waldo" Ellaher Willoughwood was a creature of the night, attending a special school for vampire youth, both in age and in time spent as a vampire. As much as Rosy worried about her son, she had to admit it seemed to make him much happier. What more could a parent ask for for their kids?
