The stress of rebuilding their house after the storm five years ago caused harm as well in Nik and Vivian's marriage. They decided that splitting up would be the best thing they could do for themselves and for their children.
Some time after that, Vivian found love again in Alma's fencing coach: Dante. They got married after less than a year of dating.
Eli had been begging their parents for a sibling. At first, Tempest and Damian refused as it had already been difficult enough to go through college while raising a baby. However, soon after finishing their studies they both found jobs that provided economic stability to the family and they were ready to give Eli a sister. Meanwhile, Eli is convinced that their uncle Edgar is a vampire as he looks nothing like his siblings or Nik and Vivian. Tempest and Damian have tried to explain that Edgar was adopted and that's why he doesn't look like the rest of the family, but Eli doesn't seem to be convinced so easily. May they be onto something?
Also, Linda started dating one of her best friends, Morrigan, after both came out to each other at the same time. Her parents love Morrigan and they are excited that she is part of the family now.
