[Opinions] We've all exchanged terrible twin names, so how about . . .
Replies
Most twins I know have twinny names (Lora & Lisa, Keith & Kevin, Shane & Shawn, Terri & Sherri, Travis & Terry). I HATE that. There were twins in our paper recently name Brittany Nichole and Whittany Nichole!!!
I like Elijah and Joel. Lately I've been really liking Anna and Ian. I don't know why as they do sound kind of twinny. I saw twins named Mercy and Miracle in the paper once, and I liked it, even with the theme.
Recent triplets in the paper were Kerith Randi, Josiah Leo, and Chloe Suzanne. Other than Randi I like that I think.
I think twin names are best when they don't rhyme or start with the same letter (though that CAN work sometimes), but are the same style. I just did a CAF and had twins named Bethany and Hannah. Even though both names aren't something I'd choose, I think they work really well together. Both are Biblical and soft. Someone else on here put Paige and Brooke. Again, they work well because they are both crisp type of names.

is the best I can think of right now. These are my cousin's children (her other two are Michael and Kimberly). Both names are Biblical (New Testament to be specific) and Thomas even means twin. My other cousin has Jacob & Jonathan (big sis Emily) which I like too even though it breaks my rule of not beginning twins' names with the same letter.

and my coworker just had Nicholas & Laura which I think is nice too
Ella and Rosa
I'm, of course, biased towards Ella :), and I am indeed biased towards Rosa, as it's my middle name (hehe), but I think Ella and Rosa make wonderful names for twins! I don't know these twins in person but have read these names in a birth announcement.
Twins I do know, though, Chandler and Victoria. I thought they were very sweet together!

The only twins I know are my cousins. They're fraternal twins, yet look extremely alike. They're called Timea and Brigitta. I have to say I hate both names :-( They go by Timi and Brigi or Gitta.
As for ideal twin sets, I like it when names are related, though not in a dead obvious way. I mean, like Salome and Jemima - one is "peace" the other "dove", the symbol of peace.
Some others:
Eloise and Helena
Helena and Aurora (I don't know why, though)
Felix and Oscar (too Neil Simon, maybe)
Rupert and Felix (just because I love both names)
Ophelia and Scarlett
Tristan and Isabel (I think because Isabel reminds me of Isolde, and my ears like the sound together)

Luke and Eli
Connor and Jake
Martha and Hannah
Kristin and Keisha
Mary and Martha (sounds good, I think, but I question whether it is because of the obvious theme. Not that it's a bad theme, just a litte too theme-y)
...
Since I missed out on the worst, here are mine:
Kassandra and Kandace, nn Sandi and Kandi
Leo, Cleo, and Theo (triplet boys)
There must be something in our water. My high school wasn't huge, but there were four or five sets of twins in my graduating class of about 300. And I know personally three sets of triplets and know OF several more. Don't know any quads, though.

I don't think the worst have been done recently, it just comes up as a topic every so often :-)
I've known three pairs of twins:
Jonathan and Michael (fraternal)
Laura and Marina (fraternal)
Danielle and Nicole (identical)
I think Jonathan and Michael sound just right together. The others work well enough, but if you want to get persnickety, then the only complaint I would have to make is that Laura seems a lot more mainstream than Marina. I don't particularly like the names Danielle or Nicole (I hate the name Nicole in fact), but I like all the other names.

Lydia and Cassie, of course. I think that's a really nice pair. Hmm...I know a Jeff and Josh, but that's not good, because they're identical, and hardly anyone can tell them apart.
I know a Richard and Robert, and they're called Ricky and Rob. Surprisingly enough, it works well, because they don't look anything alike. It's easy to tell them apart, and the similarity of their names kind of reinforces the fact that they are, in fact, twins. (They have a common last name, so that fact alone doesn't give it away.) I think that's really interesting--the fact that their names are similar benefits them, rather than detracting from them.
My mom's cousins just had twins (a boy and a girl) and their names are Trevor and Kendall. Now, I don't like Kendall at all on a girl, but I do have to commend them on picking names that aren't too twinny. Of course, I think they sound really bizarre together, but I think that they almost work--and I'd like it, if I could stomach Kendall. Heh.
I can't really think of any other twins I know. There's another set in my youngest sister's grade, and one is Hayley, but I can't for the life of me remember her sister!
