[Opinions] Micro generation name
I've been thinking recently about names between two generations. A name that is popular among both generations, and is too young or old to be a specific generation name. I'm curious about your opinion on what such a micro generation name is.

I feel like most names, that are popular, are popular for two generations. I don't find this unusual. Ones that weren't popular at any other times are harder to find, but exist. For example, Caitlin and Hayley were common for Millennials, but also Gen Z. The spellings changed a bit, I feel like a Millennial is more likely to be Caitlin, Katelyn, Hayley or Haley, whereas a Gen Z is more likely to be Kaitlyn or Hailey.I can think of so many names that were popular among Millennials and Gen Z, such as Hayley, Caitlin, Ashley, Samantha, Alexis, Alyssa, Lauren, Dylan, Justin, Natalie, Taylor, Jessica, Jasmine, Morgan, Jordan etc.I think a few decades ago, names stayed popular for even longer so they often spanned two generations or three (but they were usually classics, so don't count, I guess). I mean, maybe Carol or Pamela, but then again I'm not sure if at any point in history they were already popular.

Thank you. I liked the detailed explanation.
I have been thinking a lot about this since I read your message. I think I'm confused by the "micro generation" terminology, because to me what you're describing sounds more like what I'd call a timeless or ageless name - something that works on multiple eras and human ages. Like Julia, Elizabeth, James or William (in English culture). But I think you maybe mean something else. Do you mean... A trendy name that is popular for 20 to 30 years (the span of a generation)?
This means, for example, names that are popular with both Generation X and Millennials but are unpopular with other generations.
