[Opinions] Virginia
Thoughts on Virginia? To me it's a very winter-y name with Christmas vibes. It doesn't really go with my favorites: Lily, Poppy, Holly, Phoebe and Everlee. Well, at least not with Everlee. But I still like it and the nickname Ginny. What would you think of a modern baby named Virginia? Is it too old fashioned? Better as a middle name only? And what would you pair it with to maybe get it closer to the vibe of the rest of my list?I was thinking Virginia Winter, Virginia Ruby, Virginia Rosalind...

I think Virginia is a very ugly name, and I'm not a fan of names based on places in general.

I think of Virginia as a very practical, no-nonsense type, like Miss VirginiaPepper” Potts ;)I like it, but it’s still hard to picture on a child without them going solely by a nickname. I’m not sure how to consolidate it with your favorites either, they’re pretty different (it’s giving ”Petunia and Lily” vibes).

Don't like it or Ginny. I like Lily, Holly and Phoebe. Ruby would go well with your list. Maybe Amy, Bonnie, Daphne, Heidi, Josie, Maisie, Milly, Molly, Sadie, Zoe

I find Virginia more autumny myself, but I see what you're getting at! I like Virginia, it's warm, elegant, competent, and possesses a lovely mature beauty. Ginny is very cute as well. I'd love to meet a baby Virginia. It is old fashioned, but without being too cutesy-sentimental the way vintage names can sometimes be. Virginia has an interesting dual character - it's got both pioneer toughness and ancient patrician dignity. So that's fun.I actually think Virginia "goes with" Everlee. They both have a sort of humble, down home sort of rustic charm. I think of log cabins when I see the name Virginia, big Laura Ingalls Wilder vibes, you know? Virginia Ruby is rather nice, it's interesting how Ruby gives it more vitality. Virginia Rosalind is real classy. Virginia Winter is too much like a phrase for me though :(

I love Virginia! I think it’s very elegant but also very sweet.
And Ginny is a cute nn! Wdyt of the other nn’s Virgie & Ginger?A baby named Virginia would be too cute! Funny, I just looked at its ranking and apparently it was also used for boys back in the 20s-30s during its peak. I can’t at all imagine a man called Virginia.

I love it but couldn’t use it irl. Too much teasing potential. :(But the nn Ginny is adorable. ❤️ and the namesake (Virginia Dare) is cool. :)
