I'm with ClevelandKentEvans on this, Wilmot is a girl's name to me. When I was digging around old church records while trying to do some genealogy, I came across so many lady Wilmots in Cornwall! But I definitely get the appeal as a boy name too. It's like Wilbur, but with a little something different. For a girl I'd lean into the medieval aspect.Wilmot Margery
Wilmot Nell
Wilmot Agnes
Wilmot Gwen
Wilmot JoanSo cute. For a boy, something fusty.Wilmot FrederickI feel like it needs a third name, evenWilmot Ferdinand Ezra

Since the only person I ever met with this name was a woman (a cousin of a very good family friend, who I met once), it seems feminine to me.So my response to the middle name question would be something like Marie, Antonia, Blanche, Celeste, Danielle, Erica, Frances, Grace, Helen, Iris, Joan, Katherine, Louise, Noelle, Octavia, Pauline, Rachel, Suzanne, Ursula, Vanessa, Winter, Xenia, Yolanda, or Zuri.I would not use a middle name starting with "T" (unless it used a "th" sound like Thea) because it would lead to confusion about whether the first name was Wilmot or Wilma when the two were pronounced together.

It’s stuck somewhere between milquetoast and disarmingly charming. I picture someone like Taron Egerton or Fedor Fedotov when I hear it.Middle:
Wilmot Henry
Wilmot Frederick
Wilmot Arthur
Wilmot Isaac
Wilmot Edmund
Wilmot Conway

I love Wilmot! Maybe not as an actual given name but it has potential…it could definitely be a middle name imo especially if the fn is more traditional.
Do you prefer it for a boy or girl? I like on both but leaning toward boy.
