I like Nicholas. It was also the name of a great grandfather, but his name was spelt the French way- Nicolas, a spelling I'm not crazy about.
Nikolai is also a favorite.
Nick is better then Nicky. I personally prefer Nixa as a nickname, especially when it comes to Nikolai. I like it better then Kolya.
