[Opinions] Sadie
I never cared for Sadie. The "sad" part always jumped at me, even though it isn't pronounced like the word.I always liked Sally better.I still like Sally better in theory (old fashioned, looks nice, ready for a revival), but after saying both names out loud, I have to admit that Sadie sounds nicer to me. Which do you prefer?Do you like Sally or Sallie better?Or would you just stick with good old Sarah, which both name derive from?

Sarah is my personal favorite of these. It's beautiful! Sally is boring and a little childish, and Sadie just sounds like a horse name to me.

Sadie is cute but I don't particularly like it. It sounds less old than Sally, but still too childish to be a full name. I like the look of Sallie better than Sally. As a general rule, I think -ie is cuter and less common (Mollie, Dollie, Ollie, Tollie, etc). Sarah is a good name, but its kind of boring. I would use Sara if I had to pick any of them, because its short and to the point. I wouldn't use any nicknames for it because it can stand by itself, I suppose?

Always hated Sadie, to me its a chain smoking, toxic old lady. Far prefer Sarah and Sally any time.

I used to hate Sadie because it seemed childish and trendy. But thanks to a fictional character, Sadie has more backbone to it and I can appreciate its wild west sort of pioneer spirit. But it still feels dated-trendy and I'm not so into that. Sally always felt bland to me. It has an iconic blandness, though, like the Susie, Timmy, or Jimmy used by advertisers as a generic name for a little kid. Which is actually kind of interesting?? I have to admit, it would be something to meet a kid named Sally. "Sal" is super fun, actually. Yeah, I love that.Sallie is kinda neat. I'm not sure if I prefer it! It would absolutely never be spelled right. Sallie on a character might be ok. Sarah is lovely but so boring and overdone. I think Sally would be more fun to encounter, so I'd use that one. It's the one that feels a bit more interesting nowadays. Sally has more potential to be weirdly artistic than polite girl next door Sadie.

Sadie feels empty to me, if that makes sense.Sally is a bit better, but also feels kind of lacking? Sally to Sallie.I would 110% stick with Sarah, which I've always liked.

I don't like Sarah, and I'm very grateful to my mother for giving me another name: my Dad wanted me to have his mother's name, but maybe if I had been Sarah I'd have been OK with it. As it is, I got that grandmother's mn, Anne, which I'm pleased about.I would have been happy to be called Sally. If my parents had thought of that as an alternative to Sarah, it would have been fine. Not Sallie, and not as a nn for Sarah either: just an independent name. Sadie doesn't really happen where I live. I've never met one, though Sarah and Sally people are everywhere.

I think I like Sadie best, but it’s a tough decision between it and Sally. And I like Sally over Sallie. I don’t care for Sarah, knew too many growing up.
