[Opinions] Georgiana and Donovan
I love Georgiana and have done for years. Donovan on the other hand is too last name first name for me. There are only a handful of them I like and most of them are already established first names as well as last names. What do you think of Georgiana and Donovan?Don’t take criticism from someone you wouldn’t take advice from

I love Donovan honestly. I have trouble finding boy names that I like but this is one of the good ones. Georgiana is...fine. I guess. I don't have good associations with the name George so I can't really speak in an unbiased way on this one.

I don't like any names with George in it, to be honest. Donovon is okay. It's not the surname part that bothers me, it's that it resembles Johnathan but doesn't match it in likeability.

Donovan is fairly popular in my area, for my generation. It feels very 90s boyband to me. But I can still appreciate it. It is handsome.Georgiana is lovely. Very British, I don't think it's used much at all in my province! It's pretty special for that, like a rare butterfly under glass.

I'm neutral towards Georgiana. It has a nice, appealing sound to it, but not sure if I prefer it to other feminizations of George, such as Georgia and Georgina.
Donovan on the other hand, I absolutely love! The first time I ever came across it, I immediately took a liking to it. I found it very handsome and refreshing and I very much still do. 😊 I might even use it one day and if so only as a middle name, although it works just fine as a first.

Donovan makes me instantly hear 'Jennifer Juniper' playing in my head. Not a bad singer, not a bad song, but nothing to get excited about. In today's world, Donovan is a better choice than Donald if one wanted a Don son. But I don't. Georgiana bugs me. The whole pronunciation thing - just because some prominent person in about the 18th century pronounced it jor-JANE-a, a few other less prominent people still perpetuate the nonsense. But, that aside, JOR-jee-ANN-a is very long and I don't enjoy the rhythm; I have the same problem with ISaBELLa etc. For everyday use, it's a non-starter. I like Georgina a lot, and it shortens comfortably to something sounding like Jean, which is a family name, or to Gina, which is rather pretty.

Georgiana is nice and Donovan is not and reminds me of names like Dakota.
