[Opinions] What would you name a kid today?
If you had a daughter or son born today, what would you name the child? For me this wouldn’t necessarily be my favourite names; I wouldn’t use anything in the top 100 or fast-rising. For me:Nathaniel Adam or Abraham LukeCora PrimroseI still love all the names and would use them in a heartbeat. Some more popular or rising names I wouldn’t use right now are Lucy, Margo, Hannah, Grace, Naomi; Elijah, Gabriel, Ezekiel.

Well I’m currently obsessed with Kit for either boy or girl. I like it for a girl with the nn Kitty when she’s little (I dislike Katherine for some reason) and because of the American Girl doll/character Kit Kittridge.
I really struggle finding a mn for Kit, the best I have is:Kit Elizabeth (nn Kitty or even the double barrel Kitty-Beth)
&
Kit Jean-Louis for a boy (although it’s very French and I am in no way at all French lol).

I'm going off of how I feel at this very second. If you asked me again tomorrow, I may have another response.I'd probably use an honoring name (well, a slight nod to names that I'd honor); either Vivica Roxanne for a daughter, or Bradley Nathan for a son. If I'm not honoring anyone, I like Cecily Margaret for a girl, and Henry Jack for a boy.Realistically, there are many names that I'd consider for a child...I love so many names.

I feel like my taste hasn't changed much since thinking about this a few months ago, so I'm going to expand on the few style options I listed then as if they could be sibsets (today's additions are bolded).(Birds vs Flowers)
Bluebird Devotion / Earnest Starling
Laurel Renaissance / Herald Yarrow(T vs R)
Talia Kreszentia / Timaeus Fredrik
Rosalba Nimue / Raphael Caradoc(C vs P)
Carmen Geneva / Conrad Horatio
Pandora Delphine / Peregrine Jesse
...I think I like the middle group most right now...or maybe Ocean Beatrix / Ocean Ferdinand...There are realistically hundreds of names I'd consider for a baby. I'm one of those people who think babies "look/feel" like a particular name. I don't have any rules about it per se.

Cora Primrose is too cute!I might name a daughter Agatha Amy. And a son, Jacinto Theodore.

I adore Agatha Amy! Jacinto Theodore is very handsome.

Isn't it cute?! You wouldn't think they'd suit each other but I just fell in love with it. I find it a very "cozy" name. Jacinto Theodore sounds better when my husband says it, like "ha-THEEN-to".

Either Avraham Arieh (nicknames Avri or possibly Ari) or Ayala Ruth (after my great grandmother, Hilda Ruth).
Other possible names are Aharon (maternal grandfather), Moshe (paternal grandfather), Elisheva (after my grandmother Liza, named after Queen Mother Elizabeth), or Leonie (after my great-great grandfather, Leon, father of aformentioned Hilda.)

I agree with you, Sprout. For example I love the names Noah and Benjamin, but I wouldn’t use them because of their popularity. I’ve had so many “duplicates” at school when I was young, and that hasn’t changed with this generation what I hear from my nephews (who knew Julia was so popular?) Today I’d name my children
Pip Rosemary & Boone Lawrence

A girl would be Brianna Kathleen or possibly Savannah Kathleen. A boy would be James Michael or Benjamin Andrew.
