[Opinions] Otis
I recently learned that this is my brother's favorite name. WDYT? I don't know if I personally would use it but it does have a soft place in my heart as I tend to like names that are recognizable but aren't overly popular.
(For the record, Otis would probably never be used as my sil doesn't like it.)

I like it. I can think of several characters in movies with the name (and of course the wonderful Otis Redding), like Milo & Otis and Because of Winn-Dixie, which were already mentioned. It was also the name of Jason Ritter's character in Happy Endings, which made me take notice most recently. It's one of those wonderful old-fashioned old-man names I LOVE. I'd adore to see a sibset of brothers named Gus, Otis, & Jed or somesuch. :b
ETA: I also really like Otto, from which Otis is derived. But there's the 'auto' and 'otter' associations, and particularly the Simpsons' character that all kind of put me off it a bit. :-/

It's a cute name, and I have a soft spot for it too. There was a great character in the book/movie Because of Winn-Dixie named Otis and that is my first thought upon hearing the name. I think it'd be a good pet name, but I still haven't sorted out whether or not I'd ever use it on a child.
Oh wow, your children have gorgeous names!

Makes me think of late singer Otis Redding - I love his song "These Arms Of Mine." :-)
i had a cat named otis, so i couldn't name a child that :P
It makes me think of Otis Spunkmeyer (that was the name, right?)! Fantastic cookies with an absurdly high amount of calories. That's what I'd think of if I met a little Otis.. cookies. Good or bad, you decide ;)

ooh yes, otis spunkmeyer muffins! ahh the goodness!
I think it's very cool, honestly. :) I think of Dave Matthews' character in Because of Winn-Dixie before anything else. (Which is weird, because I saw it on the plane back from Germany last summer and kind of half-watched it. But the image of him sitting in the pet store stuck with me.) After him, I think of Milo and Otis--and who doesn't love that movie?--and then of Otis Redding (and who doesn't love Otis Redding?). And then I think of Otis-and-Faye, who were/are (Otis died recently) friends of my grandparents. :)
It's a name that could totally fit in today; there's something intensely cool about it to me. It's like Otis is just inherently jazzy to me, for whatever reason. Too bad his wife dislikes it.
