[Opinions] Nicknames You Love
We've heard a lot of hate for nicknames/shortened versions of names lately, so I thought I would ask, what are the nicknames you really like? I'm curious. Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me, and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

I really like Effie, and I would use it has a first name, but it's also the nickname for Euphemia (which I'm not a fan).

I adore Mamie and would love to use it for a combo featuring an "M-" first name and Amy as an honoring middle name (e.g., Millicent Amy, Marguerite Amy, Muriel Amy, Melpomene Amy).I also like it as a nickname for the names Mariamne, Marianne, and Marian/Marion.

Nick itself, and Nicky. For Nicholas, Nicole, Nicola, Dominic
Nobody seems to like the nickname Tom, but Tom seems like a guy everyone can get along with. Also, boy cats. Tom is cool imo
Ant for Anthony (even if Anthony is said with th).
Liz is the best nickname for Elizabeth. Most natural, and also pulls out the best sound in the name, brings it to life. I also like Betty.
Sandy and Sandra for Alexandra. Alex too, but it's the best nick for Alexander.
Theo is a better name by itself, than Theodore is. I like it even more as a nick for Theodora, though.
Dory ... fish ruined it, but I really like it and hope it recovers. I also like all of these pretty well:
Kat Angie Izzy Dani Edie Jay Ray Bee Matt Vic Vin Wes Les Nat Van Mel Sky Penny Drew Cindy Lou Maggie Jackie Rudy

I love Penelope with all her nicknames - Nell, Nellie, Penny, Poppy, PollyI also love Cricket for Christina and Queenie for Reina (Queenie was my grandparents cat)I love Jimmy and Bobby (Agatha Christie old world charm), but I don’t really love their long versions enough to use. The same for Lyssa, Ollie and Pam.Rowdy is a bit of a guilty pleasure name as is Gwennie Not sure I’d ever use either but I like the nickname Birdie for Alberta.

I love Minnie! And Bobbie. Fred and Freddie are adorable. I like a lot of old timey nicknames in general. Jimmy, Jim, Billy, Frankie, Chet, Ginny, Penny, Jenny, Janie, Joanie, Jeannie, Annie, Maggie, Aggie, Betty, Betsy, Bess.Sandy on a boy is so cute, I wish that one would come back. I love the names Sam and Sammy but hate Samuel. I think Tess and Deb are fantastic but I'm not into Theresa or Deborah.
