If it's mahr-LEEZ, that's lovely. MAHR-liz isn't. I'd spell it Marlise, I think.

I had an aunt named Anna Elizabeth “Annalise” so Marliz could definitely work for Mary Elizabeth. Although the name Marliz is not my style at all, I like the idea of combining the first and middle name to “create” a name.
