I think it's quite a pretty-sounding name. I know an India who'd b about fifty or so now. In the US, it seems to be used mainly by black people.
Indiana is too Jonesy for me to like. Lydia has the same rhythm, but the vibe is totally different.
Maybe Belinda or Melinda? But honestly, if India's sound and vibe are what attract you to it, there really isn't going to be a substitute.
