[Opinions] Daphne, Doreen, Carol & Patricia

I like Daphne a lot. The others bore me.
Dang, even Josephine?
Yes. I think Tricia and Trish, or Pax, Ricia, Ricie, Ricky, and Tree are better.

Yeah, Tricia is a much better nickname.
I really like all of them! I wonder if Patricia will return to the charts soon.
The one I love the most here is Patricia. Because is sounds pretty and is friendly and retro. Like some of my other favorite late 20th century names. (Although the peak occurred during World War II) I don't know why I feel that way about Patricia. In some ways, I think it's a pretty unusual name compared to my usual tastes. I think the reason is that I'm from Korea, so I think I may perceive the name differently than you.
Daphne is okay. Was it 2 years ago? I didn't particularly like it at the time, but it was a name I was interested in. I think the reason is probably because of Scooby Doo. But I don't think the association to Scooby Doo is as obvious as Velma. And I don't think the association to Greek mythology is strong either. First of all, I think it's pretty mainstream.
Carol it's not my style. It reminds me of Captain Marvel. I don't think the association to Captain Marvel is very strong.
Doreen is my least favorite here. I think it sounds similar to Dorcas, a name I personally don't like. And it seems to have a mid-century feel, probably because of the -een ending.

Now that I think about it, Daphne has quite a different vibe from other names.

I only like Daphne.
Oh I love Daphne, deeply. I went to school with a Daphne and her name was probably one of the reasons I became a name nerd. It was so amazing to me! A name from Greek mythology, on a real person! It felt to special, almost magical. Daphne has kept a special place for me ever since.
I have a great aunt Doreen too! Doreen is such a perfect great aunt name. It feels quaint and cozy and kind.
Carol is all right. Carol Anne as a double name was one of my longtime faves, and I still like it. I could probably get into Carol, I do admire it, but Caroline is my true love.
Patricia is beautiful and stern, and I like the idea of Patty or Patsy, but I'm less thrilled with Trisha - I knew too many of those. Trish is cute though.
