[Opinions] What classic/traditional name don't you like?

In my case it is: Alice, Amelia, Clara, Ella, Gabriel, Genevieve, Henry, Jack, Jacob, Josephine, Julia, Margaret, Oscar, Ruby, Ruth, Vincent, Theodore And I think Anna, Eleanor, Emma, James, Joseph, Michael and William are overrated.

Off the top of my head..Girls: Rhonda, Samantha, and Gertrude. Like why?For the boys I don’t feel one way or another about most of them but I can’t say I like Humphrey.Other than that I actually like most classic names, especially for girls.

Caleb. Usually I like Bible names. Not this one.Emma. I can’t think of a more milquetoast name. But I don’t necessarily hate it.Eleanor. This one’s the worst. It conjures up images of a stuffy, mean old woman. Can’t see why it’s so popular.

GeorgeFrickin' George, man. He's king of this category.I don't get it - especially in English. I don't know how anyone hears, or says, "George" and things it's an attractive sound. It's two J-sound bookends with a drawn-out vowel in the middle. (French "Georges" isn't nearly as harsh, and Spanish "Jorge" is... eh. And Russian "Yuri" isn't too bad.)I don't like any feminizations of George, either: Georgette, Georgiana, Georgina - blech!

I've never been into Eleanor. Which is kind of interesting because E female names are my favorite. I have a great collection of E female names I love but it's never appealed to me in sound. It just feels dusty and sad. Evelyn either. Evelyn always makes me think of Evil Lynn.Others I don't like: William, Charles, George ( I guess I'm bashing on the Royals today) Patrick, Gregory, Franklin, Theodore, Robert, Jeffery, Donald, Ronald, Dennis, Susan, Jean, Joan, Ines, Ann / Anne, Abigail, Martha, Eunice, Barbara, Ellen, Josephine, Nancy, Deborah, Harriet, Theresa, Eliza etc.I don't hate it but I'm not hugely into Charlotte either. It's just so blah to me. I like it a little bit more as a middle name but as a first name it just feels so empty and meaningless to me. Jane and Mary have more substance to me than Charlotte.

I was at school with a girl whose elder sister was named Lyneve. I thought it was interesting, certainly better than Evelyn, and I was disappointed that she was known as Lee.

A reversal, sounding like Lyn + Eve. Sort-of like Marie-Ann and Annmarie.
