Whitney is okay and certainly works. I don't like Whitaker as a given name at all especially for a girl, but it does make a very nice surname. It's one of my favorites in fact. I even used it for one of my many original characters and I absolutely love it!

Whitney is okay. I cannot picture Whitaker on a girl. It sounds way too much surname-y.

Whitaker definitely not for a girl, don't like it at all, surname or chocolate
I don't like the Whit part in either name, wit

Whitaker sounds like only a surname. I guess it could work as a character name for young man named after a rich relative. Whitney is ok for a girl.

I don't like Whitaker at all for a first name. It would be fine on a pet. If it was a first name, I would think it was a boy. Whitney is okay. I would think it was a girl.

Whitaker is too surnamey, and it does not work on a girl. I think Whitney is beautiful, though!

I suppose lnfns must logically be suitable for both male and female use. So the issue would be whether Whitaker sounds/looks conventionally feminine, which Whitney probably does: similar to Britney etc. No, Whitaker does not resemble traditional female names, but that doesn't matter much in today's world.

Whitney is pretty and underrated.
Personally, Whitaker feels too much only like a surname.

I'm sorry, but I don't like Whitaker as a name at all, personally (well, as a first name!). However, Whitney is a pretty name for a girl, in my opinion!
