[Opinions] Is Maurine redeemable in today’s naming culture, or still sound too dated?
WDYT?

I don't find it particularly pretty, but it seems more vintage than outdated to me. I might be biased because I know someone with this name.
Marine and Marina are both very pretty!
I can't see the point of not using the Maureen spelling. It's dated, but not seriously so. More like vintage.
I prefer Maureen, it's too dated
It's definitely not in style, hasn't been for a very long time. I only ever knew two and one was a very old lady when I met her and is surely gone now. The other is probably five years older than me.
In sound and rhythm it's not in style, but it is Irish and Irish names are generally in style now, like Liam and Aiden and all the Caitlin variations. And it's soft, like Mia and Aria.
So I think it is still redeemable. It's kind of got a sad feel to it, I don't know why.

You're right about the sadness. Maybe we're thinking of mourning?
Agree. It’s the name of my husband’s grandma and I like it but it just doesn’t seem like it will lose the grandma vibe anytime soon 😓
I think it's a good name, sweet but strong, and suitable for any age. I do prefer the spelling Maureen, though.
