Underrated name - it needs to be popular again! Angelica evokes a feeling of translucency while being no-nonsense. Dignified without trying too hard.

Angelica is steadfast; strong and steady. I like the combo Angelica Rachel.

I like the An-he-li-ca pronunciation. The "jel" pronunciation does seem more dated to me. It also reminds me of the Rugrats even though I never actually watched it.

I have always liked the name Angelica, but I probably couldn't use it for a potential daughter.

I'd imagine a woman named Angelica with long, curly, blonde hair. She has tan skin, green eyes, and a sprinkle of freckles across her nose. Personality-wise, she's a(n) extroverted, smart, bookish, athletic, and artistic lady.

Also, I always get reminded about "The Rugrats," whenever I hear this name. So, that kind of dates it to the 2000s at latest for me. However, I don't see that as a generally negative thing at all.

Angelica Fanshawe is the main character of a 2008 British miniseries called the Devil's Whore (marketed as the Devil's Mistress in the US). She's a fictional noblewoman during the English Civil War who was supposedly half raised by the queen (after her mother abandons her to become a nun, she has a vision of the devil) but the king has her husband executed for surrendering during the war and then she marries Thomas Rainsborough. She was portrayed sympathetically; the actress was Andrea Riseborough. That's my main association beyond the rugrat (but I only saw a couple episodes of Rugrats, so whatever) and the plant (occasionally I drink tea with angelica in it).

I notice names with an ICK sound in them tend to seem cold or aloof (if not snooty) to some people - I've seen Angelica, Veronica, Erica, Victoria, Nicole described that way, at least. And I guess the angel/angelic part makes it seem even more snooty, if I'm viewing it negatively. But I like the K sound, personally; it's sturdy.

Anyway, I'd rather be named Angelica than Angel, Angeline, Angelina, Angela but possibly wouldn't prefer it to Veronica or Artemisia which I get a similar Renaissance/Baroque Era (+ vague botanical) vibe from. Angelique would probably be a tie - Angelica seems more classical, and I do like that it's a plant, but Angelique seems puncher.

I think it's not pretty and kind of dated, but that's probably because I've never met a real-life Angelica. I just think of the Rugrats. Angelica from the Rugrats is an awful little brat. So, the name sounds bratty to me. I knew it was her name before I knew it was a flower. I tend to love flower names... its a shame, really.

I would probably prefer Angela, even without the association with the green cake decoration.

It's a nice name. Better than Angel, Angela, Angelie, Angelique, Angelina, etc.
I think of Hamilton!

Angelica is one of my favorite names ever! Top five for sure, goes in and out of top three.

I think it's a little bit too frilly, I prefer Angela or Angeline

I like Angelica.

It's feminine but strong, lush but not overly frilly, familiar but still has a hint of exotic mystery underneath. She is a woman of substance and difficult to forget.

It's crystalline and clear as a bell. Sharp and ornate. Delicate, but not fragile - like a ballerina. I like the idea of Angelica "Jelly" among close friends.
