Joe: I'd knock the e off it and use Joanna.
Danny: Daniela.
Johnnie: My stepfather has an elderly aunt called Johnnie. Her real name is Geneva. Apparently all her sisters were given boyish nns by their dad when they were little, and they always used those nns among themselves even as adults. Only Anna never got a boyish nn, and only Aunt Johnnie is still called Johnnie by everyone. (They had a brother, Tom.)
Ben: Not sure. I can't really see any girl going by Ben, though I've known a Robin who went by Bin or Binnie.
Jim: I know a lady named Jean Marie whose family nn was Jim. It came about by a slurring of Jean Marie into Jimmeree.
Matt: Again, can't really see this in real life. Matilda, maybe.
Ray: Rae would do. Or Rayna or Rayleen.
Vince: Can't see it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------What boy full names would you use for these typically feminine nicknames?
Elle: Elmer? Elton?
Mia: I'm not seeing any boy allowing himself to be called Mia and still admitting to being a boy.
Josie: Joseph or Josiah. There is a famous western movie about "The Outlaw Josey Wales."
Rosie: Roosevelt.
Ada: Not seeing it.
Ava: This either. Ava isn't even a nn for a girls.
Kat: I can sort of see a guy with a Greek last name beginning with Kats being called this.
Lou: Louis or maybe Luke.
