[Opinions] Nevaeh - do you think this name will ever have a good image?
I actually really like the name Nevaeh, but you read lots of negative stuff about it online. Do you think it will ever recover from that image?
I think it's so gorgeous. It has been falling quickly, so maybe when it's less popular it will seem nicer to some people?

So if I’m being completely honest, I think the sound of Nevaeh is beautiful. The spelling/pronunciation thing makes it tricky for people though. I’ve only seen negative comments online, but we all know what the online world can be like! It seems like it’s had its day in the sun, but I could see it having another burst of popularity down the track.
I think Nevaya makes sense as a spelling and it doesn’t look bad to me at all.

I also love the name Nevaeh; it sounds very nice to my ears (I also really enjoy the appearance, because it looks balanced to me). I think that it could have a positive image in the future, once a Nevaeh becomes famous. Though, I also completely agree with hello_1234's entire response to your question!
A popular celebrity needs to use this name to raise its popularity. zit would be cool to see.
If I used it, it would be as MN.
I think it's a unique confluence of:
1. New/invented
2. Trendy/easily-dated
3. Easy to misspell (I still struggle not to write Neveah).
4. Religious (like Heaven, except more gimmicky)
5. Sacrilegious (intentionally the inverse of Heaven)
People who dislike it because it's new or unfamiliar will probably get over it. If they dislike it for the other reasons, they might always dislike it.
I didn't like it 15 years ago, but I got over it at least 5 fives years ago. In my case, it's related to associating Nova and Neva. It seemed less new once I associated Neva, and I don't like it less than Nova. I agree the sound is nice. I probably wouldn't mind it as my name.
Eta: I have a cousin named Nevaeh FYI. I heard some non-name-nerds react to the name announcement/meaning as if it was sacrilegious...not that they cared, but that was their impression.

I don't think it will be redeemed as long as people care about where it comes from. They shoot their noses up at "invented" names. I think it's pretty, too, but could never use it because there is no ideal spelling.
Maybe Neveia?
It's too kitchy to have staying power, it's a novelty. It will never be a classic, and will always be a bit silly, it has to be since it's simply a word spelled backward. It may have little revival spurts, but it'll alway be viewed with a certain condecension for not being a 'real' name.
Yes, it's gimmicky and tricky to spell, but the sound of it and its meaning is not bad. It's like the name Addison. It comes out of nowhere. soars in popularity and then slides down as other names shoot up. It's not a classic name.
I think Nevaeh always had a difficult time because for most people it's not a name they associate with an actual person. It's almost like a hypothetical boogeyman name, just this bizarre idea with no ties to the real world. Once we start seeing real people with the name (actors, cashiers, doctors, teachers, etc) I think it'll be ok, less of an outcast. It might not ever be most people's cup of tea, but perhaps it won't be so demonized.
I find something about it kind of appealing. I like the backwards thing, honestly.

I get the whole “Heaven spelled backward thing”. However, it sounds gorgeous. Maybe “Neveia” instead?
I hate Nevaeh but I like Neveia.
I think that's much better. I could get behind that spelling.
I do, it depends who carries the name. I only see people criticizing it on this site. The name is okay.
I don't think it's too bad, though Neveah would make the most sense with the pronunciation. There are definitely worse names with worse associations out there, and at least Nevaeh has a nice sound. The name is so popular that I don't think it's too big of a deal; the only harsh criticism I've seen it receive was on this website. In my experience, having encountered my fair share of Nevaehs, it's not all THAT widely despised; when meeting a Nevaeh on a day to day basis, no one will read that far into it, except maybe some name snobs from the internet.
