I actually enjoy them all, but my favorite has to be Brenda! I just love the way it sounds, and that powerful meaning! Up next comes Susan, Linda, Sandra, Carol, and Donna.

Always liked Sandra and Donna in a rather vague way. Don't know any, Never actually considered them, but find them pleasant. Linda and Susan are names of friends, and always have been, so have always been on good terms with those names. Can't warm to Brenda but don't actively dislike it, but that's where Carol is. Despise Carol, probably because every Carol I've ever know was crazy or mean or both.

Sandra, basically. Sandra was my first favorite-name and I have not really stopped enjoying it despite "Sandra Dee" and it having become too dated to consider as a baby name (at least while I was doing that, dunno about now). I like it as a full name, a nick for Alexandra, and with nn Sandy too. It just sort of hits a spot for me. I think it sounds very intelligent, and vaguely outdoorsy/breezy, and pretty in a natural, modest way.

I have three of them on my favorites. Carol, Donna, and Sandra. I like Carol, Sandra, and Linda more than Donna though. Also Suzan. Not sure how I feel about Susan, it seems a tad prissy and plain.

Linda is lovely and I've known many nice Lindas, but the sound of it is missing something for me, kinda of like with Andrea - and I like Melinda and Belinda a bit better. Linda mostly makes me think of linden / lime trees, for some reason, when it should make me think of the word for pretty. It's green. It secretly verges on hippie tree-name while sounding both Latin and Germanic and neither. And it's minimalist. Good name. Maybe feels a bit too Lynda Carter right now ... but but ... Fiorentino, and Ronstadt.

The character of Carol seems really strong to me - like it's got a lot of color and warble and sass. A young Carol Burnett comes to mind. I went off of Carol because it's got a certain insular midcentury-America aspect, for me ... television and wonder-bread and jello. I might prefer Carole sometimes, it seems more hippie-ish and understated somehow.

Carol is a guilty pleasure of mine, along with Cheryl and Sherry, and Linda is pretty, even though I'm not interested names ending with da and the mid-20th century names.

I have a soft spot for Brenda, but Linda is pretty too. The rest I dislike, but some more than others.
Brenda > Linda > Donna > Sandra > Susan > Carol

I've known many ladies with these names including my sister, and grandmother. Brenda is dated. Linda is dated and very overused in its heyday. Donna is awful. Sandra and Carol I could see as middle names only if you were honoring someone.

I like Carol best, because believe it or not, I've never known one! I have bad associations with all the rest, except Donna, but I've also known a lot of those so it's not as interesting. I hate Brenda the most.

Sandra (it's so dull, but its more mature than Cassie, not as pretty as Cassandra or Lisandra)
Donna (very bland, actually prefer Don, Dawn and Donny)
Susan (never liked it, don't find it pretty at all)

I know people with these names and it's hard to separate the person from the name.

Susan: My mom's name. I've always liked it, it's got a neat history.

Donna: Donna Reed. It's insubstantial to me. It's like the Kayla of my generation. I've known lovely ones (and lovely Kaylas) but I dislike it.

Carol: my aunt's name. Carol Jean & Susan Diane - very '40s. Unlike Susan I dislike Carol. I find it grating.

Sandra, Linda, and Brenda: Meh. Nu strong feelings, I've known so many. They just run together, along with Patricia, Karen, Kathy, etc.

I prefer Sandra, but would use Alexandra long before Sandra.

Susan, family and Friends names, I prefer Suzanne or Susanna though
All the names are ok

Strangely enough, I have known women with all of these six names and my personal experiences with them have influenced how I regard each name.
