[Opinions] Charlotte-Amalie
Today's local birth announcement is for Charlotte-Amalie, after the capital of the United States Virgin Islands, where her parents are from. I think it's gorgeous and sophisticated. What are your thoughts?

Dane here.Denmark once owned the US Virgin Islands before selling them to the United States (we needed money back then), and there are a ton of Danish place names left there, including the name of the capital, Charlotte Amalie, who were a Danish queen reigning from 1670-1699.We called it "The Danish West-Indies" because this was at a time when Christopher Columbus had sailed out (going west around the globe) from Portugal to find India, but instead, yes, found America instead, and the US Virgin Islands are just East of Puerto Rico.
I think it's gorgeous!!
Its actually pretty nice, if its all said the French way.
I think the name is wonderful, though perhaps she will just be called Charlotte a lot because Charlotte-Amalie is a bit of a lot.
I think it's nice and special connection, but I don't like hyphens, Amalie would be better as a mn, quite a mouthful as a fn
The middle name is Rose. That's no surprise, but I think the first name more than makes up for it.
Five syllables is a lot. It'll be a Nice-To-Have, but for everyday use it will develop a nn or perhaps just the use of one name instead of both. I don't think that the fact that I dislike both names is influencing my thoughts!
When I saw the title of your post, I said to myself "oh, just like the USVI capital". It's one of the best place names. The place was named after a Queen of Denmark which only adds to its allure. In this case, it has special meaning for the parents.
