I've been lurking on forums relating to snake care because I want one as a pet. There was a thread about what people named their snakes and I am bringing that valuable information here to you, my fellow name nerds.

It took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize why so many of the snakes were named Monty!

Oh I didn't catch that either lol. I was just thinking Monty is a common pet name since I know of a couple dogs named it but a reference to Monty Python makes sense.

I hate snakes. I had a couple of bad experiences with them so I'm not a fan. However, I put aside my misgiving and reply to your post.
