[Opinions] Trinity
Do you like Trinity for a girl?Is it dated?Would you expect the parents to be religious?

Replies

It's alright. I don't think of it as particularly religious, I assume religious parents are more likely to name their baby after a saint or something instead of the word "trinity".
I have always loved the name Trinity, and find it gorgeous! Though, the "holy trinity" association is ingrained in my mind, so that kind of turns me away. However, I still love the name Trinity, and every girl named Trinity (that I've met) has been wonderful!
I don’t know if I would say it’s dated, but it feels kind of early Y2K to me. I like it in a guilty pleasure sort of way.
This is dating me but I think of The Matrix before anything else. Also Trailer Park Boys. It's a pretty trashy name, but in a 90s/early Y2K way, which gives it a fun retro flavor. I don't exactly hate it, but I don't like it. I do like it more than Serenity though.I would absolutely not expect the parents to be religious.
Agree completely with this.
It's creepy! As the world gets more atheist this would be weird.
I find it tacky, and yes, I’d assume the parents were Christian (maybe evangelical).
I don't like it as a personal name at all. Dated, maybe, as people world-wide are apparently becoming less religious! But, I'd certainly expect a Trinity to have religious parents.
It's okay. No real strong feelings about it, but I don't know how I feel about the sound. The only Trinity I've ever met was a teenager a few years ago. She was religious. So, in my mind, not dated, maybe religious.
I don't like it, yes dated and very religious
No, I don't like it. The sound of it annoys me. Singsongy. It's not as bad as Felicity though.
It seems kind of like a y2k-era fad, but not "dated."
I'd think it's about a 75% chance the parents were motivated by religion.
It's a fine name, but it's not really my style.
Today, people are more inclined to think of the movie character named Trinity in the Matrix franchise rather than of any religious connection.
Which the Matrix franchise has so much symbolism of religious themes and such. I had to analize it for my senior English class in High School and did a whole paper on it.
I've never heard of that character, actually. My only association with the word trinity is, in fact, the Holy Trinity.
