Any idea why Lainey ranked so high this year? I don’t hate it, but I also don’t understand the massive leap in popularity.

It's another Yellowstone-effect name, like the rise of Dutton, because an actress called Lainey is on the show.

This same question was posted back in May when the 2024 list was released.
I'll say the same thing there. Lainey Wilson, fits in with lots of other names & is another nickname name that are pretty common.

Lainey Wilson ...The country singer. I'm thinking that's why, mainly. Also names like Elena and Layla and Alana are similar in style and are also very popular.
