Help[Opinions] Roald Dahl siblings and children
Today it popped into my head reading Roald Dahl’s autobiography Boy when I was younger, and being interested in his siblings’s names (before I was interested in names). I looked them up today, as well as his children’s names. I included middle names where I could find them too. What do you think?

Astri and Asta seem odd to me: two versions of Astrid, but no Astrid to be seen. Alfhild is a lot to live up to. Ellen and Louis are not to my taste at all. Else is, unfortunately, an English word! Pity it wasn't Elsa.
Olivia is lovely; I know he liked the sound of Twenty, but there must have been other 'real' names with pleasing sounds available.
Sophia (soFYEa) is lovely; Chantal is undistinguished where I live. I love Tessa and would use it IRL.
Theo would be better as Theodore; I dislike Matthew heartily.
Ophelia Magdalena is too much for one person! Too long, too heavy, too ornate.
Lucy is one of my all-time favourites; Neal, I dislike in all its spellings.

My favourite author as a kid!! Such magic! I like Asta.
I love the cultural names of his siblings! It’s too bad his children’s names aren’t very cultural, though they are all beautiful names!
How in the world do you get Tessa out of Chantal Sophia?

I like Ellen, Louis, Else, Asta, Alfhild, and Ophelia. My very favorite name is Chantal.
