[Opinions] Sebastian
I was surprised to discover that Sebastian ranked #13 this year. I remind it having a tendy moment years ago, but haven't met any since.
Thoughts on it? Have you met any?
I'm meh on the name. It's a little long for my taste, but it's got a neat history.

I absolutely love it! I only know one.
good, but best kept as a middle name with a lighter, younger name in front. something like Leo Sebastian or Jay Sebastian
I've never been a big fan of the name Sebastian.
I used to hate it but I've made peace with it now lol
Bastian though I adore ❤️

It’s wild to me how popular Sebastian is! How is it beloved by the masses when Balthazar, Ferdinand, Algernon, and the like are considered outsized??

Ferdinand is such a lovely name!
This name seems to come up in Opinions often. It is popular, after all. I adore it but can understand why others may not. I've never met a Sebastian. It sounds like a butler's name. Upper class but not too haughty.
It does seem long for some reason, but its only three syllables. It has some weird nicknames. My guilty pleasure is Bash, but I'd still never call a son that.

I overheard a Sebastian at Walmart this weekend. I am not a fan of this name. I think it’s an unattractive sound.

I think it's handsome and romantic.
When I was a kid, one of my friends had an older brother named Sebastian, and my oh my, did it ever seem special when every second guy I knew was called Mike. I guess I have warm nostalgia for it because of that. Also it reminds me of The Neverending Story and the protagonist Bastian, so the nostalgic meter just keeps rising.
It is a little unwieldy I suppose. A little fancy.

It's definitely romantic!
The only one I personally have encountered was a handful of years older than me.
I'm surprised to see it rising in popularity. My primary association dates me, I suppose, but the crab from The Little Mermaid packed quite a punch as a kid - and made this name sound a bit like a parody.

I think of the saint and how he suffered in the story.
I have not met any but I know of one that was known as Seb.
