[Opinions] What's the ugliest girl name you've ever heard?

Replies

OK it's maybe not an ugly name because I do think it sounds pretty but horrible name choice. Chlamydia. I didn't see it personally but heard about it. The mom saw it and didn't know it was an sti just liked the sound. I certainly hope it isn't true because that poor girl. I mean pseudomonus or streptococcus would definitely sound worse but might be better than an sti? I'm in the science field so I knew right away what it is but maybe it's not common knowledge?
I think I once read that a mother about 70 - 100 years ago names her daughter Vagina because she didn't know what it meant and thought it was pretty.Edit: A few people mentioned Olga and I feel like I should stick up for her. She's positively adorable next to the likes of a lot of these modern cre8tiv names and I much prefer it over religious virtue names such as Blessing and Grace. Also Elon Musk's naming style is making me love those Huntlyn, Brentlyn and Kaiyleighanne names a little too much to feel comfortable.

Blanche is the first to spring to mind.
Probably Bertha or Olga. Just not a huge fan of the sounds. I try to stay away from calling names ugly, though.
Probably Bertha or Beulah. Also, when I tried to use chat GPT to give me a list of unattractive names it refused and said all names are attractive in their own way 😅 like what are you? a politician? 😆 when I changed it to just names similar to Bertha and Beulah, it gave me a list of: Mildred
Gertrude
Ethel
Agatha
Gladys
Doris
Edna
Myrtle
Hilda
IrmaI agree with a fair number of these but Doris is firmly in my GP camp, lol. I wouldn't ever use it on a person, but maybe on a cat or similar pet.

Beulah is horrible. I can’t imagine anyone today using it—except as a character in a book. I also can’t stand Mildred but the nickname Millie is very cute.
Right, and I also think Millicent would be a better legal name for Millie instead of Mildred
Dated and may it never return: HortenseFeminization that shouldn't have been: ErnestineTrend gone wrong: Harper or HadleyApologies to the culture, but no: Olga
Hortense is rising in France actually. It probably wouldn't come back to English speaking countries though.
I totally agree with the likes of Jream, Brixtyn, Brogan, Eglantine, Donaldina, and some other names already listed...but if I had to choose one name, I'm definitely going with Oakley.
either Maude or Harper
I heard Brogan on a girl(maybe 20?) recently. I also don’t like Sley or Leigh names. If I had to pick, I would pick Gertrude.

Wow, Brogan isn’t particularly attractive on boys, but it’s atrocious on girls.
Almost anything with the "-nsley" combination is pretty gross to my ears. Kinsley, Tinsley, Brinsley, etc. I also find Goretti very unmusical but it's got major presence, I can't deny that.
I think it was a TikTok but somewhere online I saw or read about a woman who met a baby girl named…Cuntley (or Cuntleigh?). It could have been a fake story, I wouldn’t be surprised either way. I think nearly all of the modern ley/leigh names (Ainsley, Henley, etc) are ugly.
HAHAHAHAHA...THERE AIN'T NO WAY THAT'S REAL; I'M BEGGING THE WORLD! Lol, I'm not saying that you're lying or whatever...I just refuse to believe that anyone would name their daughter "Cuntley". I think it should be prohibited to name children names containing vulgar words (i.e...the first four letters of Cuntley).
If that story is real, big yikes.
Gertrude
Myrtle
Beulah

Flick, Gro/Gry & Puck.
Furthermore additionally, -purely- for the visual impression :
Fikriye/Fikreta, Güllüsüm, Nazia/Naziha, Tugba
Today I learned Flick is an actual name.
Looks like that, unfortunately (-:
Poorly thought out feminizations are up there, like Donaldina and Richardine. It's like we get it, you wanted a son. 🙄And then there's the modern version of that with the likes of Brixtyn and Paxtyn...(*shudders*)
Hi all,
My third wife ( 6'9", Female, Half-Elf) has the name Shaqueefa.
In hindsight i can see how ugly it is ( She is very beautiful though) .
Stay Fruitfull!
Bertha
Myrtle
Hortense (sounds better in French)
Mildred

Hedwig
It's between Gudrun and Richmal, both of which I got from this site.
Olga, Greer, Tammy
