Elisabetta... Ditto, almost anything is better than Elizabeth / Elisabeth.

Neither... Elena is maybe just marginally better. I hate Helen.
Neither is my style, but I really dislike Charlotte so maybe Carlotta.
Sofia... but actually... Sophia is better than both.

Neither, I absolutely hate all forms of Claire (sound, look, and really bad association) and Chiara has mean vibes through association. Clara is just nicer than either.
Neither, I don't like Julie and dislike the look of Giulia. Julia is just ok, only because I've known some nice ladies called Julia.
Caterina... Almost any version is better than Katherine.

Some of these seem more French vs Italian rather than English vs Italian (Sophie, Charlotte, Julie). I think of Sophia, Caroline, and Julia as the usual English forms.
In almost every case, the first one is easier for me to say, and more familiar. So I tend to prefer those.
But I like Clementina more than Clementine, Maria more than Mary, and Elisabetta more than Elizabeth.
I go back and forth with Helen vs. Elena... today Elena seems much nicer.
Caterina, Chiara, and Carlotta are very appealing and almost seem like they're not exactly the same names, to me, when used in English and not Italian. But if I'm naming a baby of my own, I'd still probably play it safe and go with Catherine, Claire, and Charlotte.
