I'm not sure if this hypothetical or real. Yes I would use the name assuming my partner agreed because they can sometimes veto. I think I would more so hesitate using a name if a close family member named their child that name but even then it may depend on the situation. My sister married a man with my husbands same last name. My dad passed away. My sisters father in law passed away. They found out they were having twin boys and asked what we thought they should name them. I said I would name them after your dads. That is exactly what they did. Thing is my father in law also has that same name so in the crazy world where my husband and I would possibly have twin boys we may consider using the same names as well.
