I prefer Osian. It’s a nice name and it honors your heritage. Of course I have a soft spot in my heart for Welsh names. The only concern with using them in the USA is pronunciation.

I like both, though I think I prefer Osian. I hadn't heard of it until now, but I think it's a good name and both would be good choices.

Osian, no contest. Roman is an awful name; it’s a type of people, not a name. Osian is beautiful.

Roman is my pick. Easy to say and spell, whereas with Osian I think you will run into pronunciation and spelling problems.

Roman has no pronunciation issues; Osian, probably, can't avoid them. So, Roman Osian.

Prefer Roman by far

I like Roman.

My impression of Roman is pretty similar to names such as Adrian, Julian, Lucian, Sebastian. It's a bit more "masculine" than those - with a tinge of pompousness and martial-ness - but also kinda quiet and closed, like Rafael or Rowan.

I actually don't think of Polanski. He does slightly taint the name Roman, but not enough that I wouldn't use it. My mind has him labeled as "Roman_Polanski," not as "Roman, last name Polanski." Since I don't know him personally I would only ever refer to him as Polanski, never as Roman. It's kind of funny to think of him as being named Roman because it seems misfit.

Osian seems neat. What I don't like about it, is that out loud, it sounds basically just like Ocean - in my accent anyway. Maybe you like that about it, though.

Roman reminds me of convicted sex offender director Roman Polanski so it's not a name I find appealing.

Osian is my preference. Are you pronouncing it "OSH-ann" or "oh-see-an"? Osian is a Welsh boys name. I'm more used to seeing the Irish name Oisín ("aw-SHEEN" or "oh-SHEEN") or the literary Ossian.
