[Opinions] Thoughts on the name Manny for a girl?
Thoughts on the name Manny for a girl?

Nah, I'm not a fan of it for a girl, as it has "man" in it. Amanda would be find in my opinion, though.
So wrong on so many levels.
I hate Manny for a girl.
Makes me think of Degrassi Next Generation (If you know, you know - LOL)
I think it is okay as a nickname for Emmanuelle but seems a bit odd as a full name.
It would be very cute as a nickname for Manuela, Manola, Emmanuelle, or Emanuela/Emmanuela.

It'd be very uncommon. Depends if that's the full name or if it's short for something. The most important thing about kids though is they'll probably find a nickname they prefer on their own. I know two people who INSISTS their kids never be called the short forms of their names and I'm predicting a rude awakening when they're older.
Gosh! How rude of the parents to insist their children be called what they named them instead of what others want to call them! The nerve!
That's quite fine and dandy, and I'm happy to oblige! I'm just confused about the fact that...what if the kid likes that nickname? Are they gonna just concede that they set themselves up for it? Are they gonna be weirdos and forbid the child from calling themselves that? It doesn't add up to me from a long term perspective.
I really don't know why anyone would even think of this.
I suppose it could be a nn for Manuela or Emanuelle, or even a babyish nn for Amanda.
But Manny?
It's just bad.

It could work, as a nickname, for any feminine variation of male names, for which Manny is the nickname for. Like Emmanuelle, or, perhaps, any feminine names beginning with "Man-".
I'd spell it Mannie, to make it look more feminine. But that's just me, though.

Emmanuelle, Emanuela or Manuela would be preferable for first names.
Ask yourself: what girl would want to be called Manny? I sure wouldn't.

Terrible
No thoughts about it at all. Sorry; can't be bothered.
It's not even appealing for a man... In English I think it sounds too much like "many," and like "mani" meaning manicure, and a little bit like "money." In addition to sounding "man"-y. So it just doesn't seem namey.
I guess it could be a nickname from Emmanuelle etc. In that case, if the bearer accepts it, I guess it's fine. I wouldn't choose it, or accept it if I were an English-speaking Emmanuelle. I like Manuela, but I don't think Manny is a natural nickname for it.

Is it a nickname? I can't see it as a standalone name. I'm not a huge fan of the sound but also it has man in it. I'm trying to think of an equivalent for a male to have. All I got is Lady and I would not use that for a man. I mean it would be OK if for instance it was a nickname for a last name like Goldman... but that's a stretch and Goldy would be better in that example anyway
Horrible, sorry.
Ew tbh
