[Test] A few tecincal questions regarding this website
1) How does the place feature work?2) I want to be able to take a look at the notes feature, as it is a reference spot - it could be beneficial for me for my further research, specifically, I am interested in the name Besselyn and some other submitted names like Aldessa or HemmaI want to learn more about name research and historical names so it would be nice if I were to access or know the reference spot not because I want to edit these names but because I want to take a look at these documents and want to learn what evidence or documentation I need to prove a certain name is real. I appreciate and admire the editors of this website and I want to learn how to use the reference spot and know what documents were used for some of these names or at least what were the names of said documents.(I don't want to edit these names I want to take a look at the reference spot)

Hi Israella,The collection of names on this site is divided into three types: given names, surnames, and place names. Surnames and place names show on surnames.behindthename.com and places.behindthename.com respectively, while the given names are on the www site. Technically speaking, they are all the same site, with the subdomain just indicating which type of names to show. Does that answer your question?I have added a setting to display the notes. It's under the "Name Definition Pages" heading here: https://www.behindthename.com/members/edit.php?page=settings
(admins: you will not see this setting since the notes are already displayed for you automatically)

thank you, I should've explained it more clearly, I wanted to know how the given name search setting per place works, for example, I tried to look for Bolivian names so I set the place on Bolivia. My question is how does the website label this name as Bolivian although it's not listed as such on popularity lists or in the usage category?
thank you, I was about to ask about the option of making notes displayable for users of the website
Ah, I misunderstood. For the Bolivian search, the site knows that the predominant usages that apply to Bolivia are Spanish, Quechua and Aymara, so it uses that information to find names that are categorized as such.
