Help[Surname] I can't find my last name
Hello!
I've been using this site for years and always check once a year to see if my last name gets added, then finally thought about just putting up a post to see if anyone knows. My last name is Magel. If it helps, I got it from my grandpa who has German ancestry.

Ancestry.com says it’s German. “perhaps from a female personal name derived from the ancient Germanic name Machthild composed of the elements macht ‘strength might’ + hild ‘strife battle’.” Not too sure of the validity of Ancestry.com, I never looked much into it, but that’s what I found.
