A friend of mine, while his wife was expecting, told everyone they were naming the baby Ichabod nn Icky as a way to deflect from the baby’s real intended name. I’ve always thought that was funny.

That's a clever idea. But poor Ichabod! If that had been my friend, and I found out Ichabod was a joke, I'd be SO mad, and stubbornly call the kid Ichabod for the rest of its life. I'd buy them clothes with the name embroidered on it and everything.
