[Opinions] Names that my mom considered for my middle name
Elizabeth: I was going to be Katherine Elizabeth until my uncle texted my mom saying that Kate Middleton’s middle name was Elizabeth. My mom didn’t want people to think we were copying her(which I don’t anybody would have, but whatever).
Alison: My mom was introduced to my dad by their friend Alison, but she didn’t like the flow of Katherine Alison.
Elisa: My uncle suggested Elisa, and my mom really liked it. My grandmother also liked it, because her grandmother was Elisabetta. However, we have a relative named Lisa who kind of annoys use, and my mom didn’t want her to think I was named after her.
Marie: This is what my parents chose. My mom wasn’t totally sure, but my dad was talking to a co-worker and he asked about the name. My dad said "Katherine Marie", and the co-worker got a blanket that said Katherine Marie ________. My mom ended up going with Marie because of that.Overall, which of these is your favorite? Mine is probably Elizabeth or Elisa.

I like Elisa, because it's a little unexpected. Marie is a great name, and I have many friends with Marie as a middle name. I might even know a Katherine Marie.
I love the names Elizabeth, Elisa, Marie, and Alison! They're all wonderful names. However, I think that your name, Katherine Marie, is a stunning name. Marie is a very common middle name, but it's still flawless, nonetheless! Katherine Elisa would've been my pick, due to it's gorgeous flow/uniqueness, with Katherine Marie closely following.
I think the name you ended up with is the best. It has a nice flow, it's pretty, and doesn't feel too worn.
I find Katherine Elizabeth to be too worn for my taste.
I love Alison but agree that it doesn't flow well with Katherine.
I like Katherine Elisa, too, but I don't think it flows as well as Katherine Marie. Katherine Elise would've been nice, though.
Alison and Elisa would have been fun too though, or Elizabeth. Any are okay ideas with Katherine. You have a good, solid name at the end of the day.
A mix of classics and some slightly unexpected. Marie is tires but it's used a lot for a reason. It does have a sweetness to it. The sentimentality behind it makes it better.
I think Marie flows best, the others too long, Elise would have been niceI know Kate's mn was Elizabeth but most people wouldn't
It's funny how some parents are so worried about people thinking they are copying someone. I remember my mom telling me that she scrapped her favorite name idea for me, just because she heard someone else had a similar-sounding name (not even the SAME name) for their kid. Interesting story about the blanket being the thing that sealed the deal. That's a story to tell the grandkids. My middle name was chosen arbitrarily too. But Katherine Marie is a fine name; it's a bit retro, which is nice. Marie used to be everyone's favourite middle name option, but it's fading from use now.Katherine Elisa is probably my favorite option. Katherine Eliza would be nice too.
I knew so many girls in school whose middle names were
Marie. I had a lot of friends, with the middle name Marie growing up.
Now, I hear of friends naming their girls middle names Marie and it is so funny to me. I feel like for my generation (born in the 80’s) we kind of despised the name, and now I keep hearing it again. And really, it’s a pretty name! There isn’t much I can find about it that I don’t like-it was just our names (my friends and my age group) and we mostly didn’t care for our own names.

Marie is fine with the French pronunciation. Where I live, it's MAHri, which isn't good.
I'd prefer Elizabeth to Elisa: Elizabeth is my daughter's first mn.
I agree about the flow of Katherine Alison: it's a pity, because I love Alice and Alison. Katherine Alice would work for me.
I think you lucked out - I like Katherine Marie the best.
If I were in your place, I think I'd just figure my dad named me because he had a favorite, and my mom didn't really have a favorite. It's not really about the blanket!Elisa would have been nice too. However, I wouldn't want my annoying relative to think I was named with her in mind, either! And I also dislike the name Lisa.Katherine Elizabeth seems sort of generic to me in a way that Katherine Marie does not. Elizabeth is a name I often forget. Marie isn't.
Katherine Elizabeth sounds very sophisticated, and I agree that people wouldn't make an association with Kate Middleton because I didn't even know her middle name until I read this post lol. My favourites are Elizabeth and Alison.
