[Opinions] Cyrus, Estella and Rimay
Replies
Cyrus reminds me of Cirrus clouds, no matter if it’s pronounced correctly or not. I don’t love it. Estella is a “moldy” vintage name, not a “sparkly” vintage name imo. Is Rimay pronounced /ree-MAY/? That’s kinda cute, doubt I would use it though.
Don't really like any, Estelle is nice though
I love Estella. I think I could even identify as it of my favorite E name lineups. I think I would be a "Stell" Estella. Cyrus is okay but not necessarily my favorite. Dislike Rimay as it makes me think of A slang term for... certain sexual acts.
I find Cyrus similar to Cecil, Cyril and Cedric: nothing actually wrong with them, but they are all out of fashion. Estella is ornate and too closely associated with the unpleasant character in Great Expectations. Estelle is better, and Stella is excellent. Rimay ... riMAY? RIEmay? Something else? It might be real enough, but it doesn't convince me.
I agree that Cyrus seems similar to the names you’ve mentioned above. Rimay was being said RI-may and ri-MAY.
I like Cyrus & Estella.
My first thought when I see Cyrus is Cyrus(The Virus) Grissom played by John Malkovich in Con Air. Followed by Cyrus 11 also known as Cyrus the Great of Persia 600-530BC.
I like Cyrus as it’s not overly popular ranking 585 in England and Wales in 2022 though somehow familiar maybe because of its similarity to Cypress or Sirius.
Estella is very tied to Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. I don’t mind the name but I don’t love it.
Rimay I don’t like though it does remind me of of the Lithuanian name Rimantas and its diminutive Rimas.
