[Facts] Mai and Nai - male Slovenian names
Mai ranked #86 in Slovenia in 2023 and was given to 22 boys, Nai ranked #91 and was given to 20. Does anyone know their meaning or origin? Both were new additions to the popularity lists.

Variants of Maj and Naj, respectively.
Maj, already in the main database: "either a masculine form of Maja 1, or else from the Slovene name for the month of May."
Naj is available as a submitted name, but no etymology is provided. I assume it is a masculine form of Naja, which is a short form of Anastazija, Danaja and names beginning with na, such as Natalija. I don't think it's far-fetched - there's also Taj (and Tai), a masculine form of Taja, both names popular in Slovenia.
