[Opinions] Ramo
1. If you saw the name Ramo, how would you instinctively pronunce it?
2. What do you think of the name Ramo pronunced RAY-moh?
3. In the grand scheme of names with the Ray sound in them, how does Ramo stack up? Horatio and Ray are the two that I'd ever consider using. Of Ramo, Ray, and Horatio, which do you like best? Least?
4. Would you rather meet a girl named Karana (kar-AH-nah) or a boy named Ramo?I didn't pull Ramo out of the sky; it's the name of Karana's younger brother in Island of the Blue Dolphins, and I always liked his name for its similarity to mine. :)Oh, and anything else you feel like saying is welcome, too. :)Array

1. RAY-moh!
2. It's nice. I love -o names, and I've always had a soft spot for Ray. I would prefer it spelled Raymo though.
3. I like Ray the best and Horatio the least, so I guess that doesn't really tell you much. Out of 10, Ray is like a 9, Ramo a 7 and Horatio a 6.
4. I would rather see Ramo.

I automatically thought "Whammo" or Rambo with the B left out. :-/ Ramo pronounced RAY-moe isn't bad, but possible teasing could be "Ray's a Mo" (gay/homosexual). I much prefer Ray or Horatio. I prefer Karana to Ramo but neither one knocks my socks off. :b

WHAMMO! is how I see this name, sorry ;) Stick with Horatio, imo. And Karana, definitely.

1. I'd say RAH-mo. Almost like Ramon without the n and the emphasis on the first syllable instead of the second.
2. RAY-mo sounds too much like Rambo for me.
3. Ramo is no where near as versatile a name as Horatio and I prefer Ray to Ramo. Ramo might work in my mind as a nn for Raymond, but even still I'd use Ray over Ramo. Especially for you! I see Ray as a stronger part of your future son's name. The -mo weakens the name in my mind.
4. Karana because I wanted to be her when I read Island of the Blue Dolphins in fifth grade! ----Betsy-----

Karana because I wanted to be her when I read Island of the Blue Dolphins in fifth grade! I spent many of my recesses in elementary school playing I was Karana, so I know the feeling. :) It's been my favourite book since my dad read it to me in second grade.Array

1. If you saw the name Ramo, how would you instinctively pronunce it? RAM-O2. What do you think of the name Ramo pronunced RAY-moh? I do like it better pronounced Ray-mo than Ram-o.3. I like simple plain Ray the best. I dislike Horatio because of Horatio Cain on CSI: Miami - the guy just annoys me. Ramo, I definitly could get use to. 4. Would you rather meet a girl named Karana (kar-AH-nah) or a boy named Ramo? I love Karana and have for a very long time, so I definitly would pick Karana first. But, Ramo is cool. I think a boy these days would like a name like that. For me it has the feel of Rocco, Romeo, and Maddox. I love the book Island of the Blue Dolphins. Karana was a favorite name of mine since I read it in grade six!
