If I'm lazy, it sounds like a mispronunciation of "fluent".

I think it's a nice name.
Really dislike it. There's something I find quite ick and skin-crawling about it, I have no idea what though... one of those illogical, visceral reactions I can't really explain.
Looks like a French verb, « ils fleurent ».
"Fleurent" is actually a French verb, from fleurer, meaning "to exude, to smell of; to herald; to flour". As a French student I now can't unsee it.
Goog translates that. Says it's a literary usage that means "they (give off a pleasant flowery) smell"
